Last Minute NH Climbing Partner 5/13

Was planning on the Eaglet tomorrow, but my partner had to cancel. Willing to do trad or sport. Leading 5.7 Trad/5.8 Sport and following 10ish.

Eaglet is likely(?) in a bird closure now till Aug.

So the Eaglet is closed due to eaglets?

Likely closed for nesting peregrine falcons. It’s usually the first formation to close as they always nest on a small ledge below the summit.

also worth noting…. If leading 5.7 is your limit it may not be the best choice. West Chimney is the easiest terrain on the spire and not a gimme at the grade. Not a great place to have an accident…. Especially with a rando partner who may or may not be climbing up to their stated abilities. Just my 10 cents…..

Thank you for the reply. Where do they post the closure information? I checked the MP page for the Eaglet for a notice, but didn’t see one.

Also, thanks for the route info. I’ve led the Spire three or four times already. I put 5.7 as my limit because of Funhouse. I still grab that root

Checked today.  Eagle Cliff is closed.  Eaglet is open.
