Worst/Least used piece of gear you own

At this point that award definitely has to go to my TCUs..

The TCU just has a weird head size and especially at larger sizes doesn't place well at all. They were my only small gear for a while back in the day (the blue/yellow), and once in a blue moon I drag the blue out of my bag to add extra small stuff when I think I'll need a bunch. I think the truth is the technology for small cams is just so much better than it was when TCUs were invented - they're blown out of the park by Z4s, totems, and even X4s (impotence/floppy stem aside).

Beal Dynaloop; really bulky.

Belay glasses; I wear glasses and the combo just doesn't work.

Clipstick; just a big thing I rare take with me, due to size.

Chalkbag and chalk; i just don't need/use it.

First Gen DMM dragons; way too slippery out of the box. 2nd Gen was much better.

Older gen BD couloir (have not tried the new one); that was kind of unpleasant hanging on a belay (yes, alpine environment)

Edelrid - SM Clip; the worst iceclippers i have used. Feels fragile, the wiregate moved multiple times to the wrong side (but had so much play, you could fix it easily) and too damn tiny.

I just fell on a Micro Z 0.2 and it seemed to do the job.  What do you like better in the small sizes?

dragonflies for the smallest sizes.... I also love the WC Zero Friends.

I like the dragonflies and totem basics (rip), i dunno the smaller sizes of the z4s just don't seem as high quality

Mammut Smart 2.0

Works fine but it's just too single-purpose to ever be worth carrying. Megajul makes it useless to me so it collects dust.

I was gifted a dyna loop by a friend who found it too short for use as a rap extension. I have not used mine a ton yet but I have found it nice for hitching trees as part of an anchor system or for a quick anchor on two bolts. I agree with most people that the sewn part bartacking is too large and gets in the way when you are using in on a larger object.

Not disagreeing about the single-rope Smart and other devices like it (BD has one, too) but the Alpine Smart (two rope slots version) is one of the most useful and versatile bits of climbing gear I own. My go-to for almost all multi-pitch.

I had a wide one, like the gun, added to the back of my caddy, pretty sweet but all said and done I paid $200+ for it!

They were great junk drawers for aid, though I use ice clipers for that now

I only use calk the oddball time I am bouldering

Yup I can appreciate that. The alpine smart is a much better purchase!

I literally never use my gri-gri. Atc pilot for lead belay and reverso for guide mode applications and rappelling
