Socked in, even if stuff is climbable there won’t be any parking. Even if you think you’re legally parked you will probably be towed.

Weird in years of going up there I have never seen anyone towed from the normal Suicide rock parking area.

So according to this logic the state highway and the state plows exist only to serve locals who chose to live in a place with issues sometimes.

I propose that all the beach cities close to anyone who doesn't live there.

But when the mountain folks go to the beach in their Subarus or F150s, they don't cause a nuisance. When the beach folks go up the hill in their Teslas or civics without the basic snow chains, it is a nuisance.

Probably because you always visited at times when Suicide is usually climbed, which means snow isn't an issue. As the years have gone on, the crowds at Humber Park have become overwhelming when it snows, and it is so narrow and steep up there, it gets jacked up with people and their cars on oftentimes really snowy and icy conditions. Finally, USFS just started closing it altogether. People try parking just outside of Humber on Forest Drive (the usual Suicide parking area) and all along Fern Valley Road- with all the snow, the cars block access completely sometimes. Not good for residents trying to get around, or potential emergency vehicles. (Not to mention the fact too many of these people wind up snow playing in people's yards.) There is now very clear signage all along Fern Valley Road stating 'No Parking'.

There aren’t posted parking prohibitions on Forest Drive, but when snow narrows the road, and people park on both sides the Sheriff makes way for emergency egress and cars are towed indiscriminately. $500+ tow fee from Idyllwild Towing.

Ah thank you that makes sense. Forgot about people playing in the snow.

Your logic, not mine. It's quite possible to visit a town and be cognizant of conditions and hazards, and be respectful of those who live in the area. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to happen too much of the time.

It's not my logic.  It is the state's and anyone else's who supports this fake crisis so that permanent vacationer residents can get their cigarettes delivered.

Are the beaches and public beach roads closed to the public on busy summer days?

Does the state now support removal of all transients in cities who are not respectful of those who live in the area?

All the armed and badged inspectors who are enforcing these restrictions while being paid triple-time in this $100 million dollar fake crisis can easily see if a vehicle is following the rules.  Our legal system does not presume to guess ahead of time at future crimes.  And you are quite mistaken that out-of-towners are not a nuisance in the cities.

Edit in response to add:

People park illegally on crowded days/places in the city quite often, and there is no closure of roads.   And when people camp illegally in the city, they are brought free food.

Certainly there is a limit to the number of non resident cars that an area can handle.  That number is far higher than zero.

I'd say that if the folks we're needing to be towed daily out of the way, just so the residents could get out of their driveway, then yes, we'd see plenty of effed up regulations around the beach.

And, it most certainly is not about illegal parking on a busy weekend. It's that folks become stranded, stuck, immobile... And the only way to untie the gridlock is to hire Idyllwild Garage, or have the CHP call them in to clear the way. And sometimes, hours later, the gridlock is slowly being cleared, but the old lady who needs EMS is screwed. So, we get these effed up rules to live by.

And those awful people with badges and guns are required by their contract of employment, to enforce those effed up rules.

So the entire San Jacinto mountains are basically closed now. They didn’t even spell “San Bernardino” right

Forget ice climbing, I think you can ski off it.

Believers in freedom will ignore the autocrat fake emergency closure as much as possible.

"….and get turned around at Mountain Center."

Don't we wish. Town is currently overrun with believers in freedom.

240cm of snow on a N facing aspect around 8,500ft. South facing aspect was still 4.5ft at the same elevation

Any photos of Tahquitz/Suicide post-Pineapple Express storm?  I'm hoping the 2-3 inches of rain cleared a lot of snow out below 8k.  Doesn't look like it's gotten below freezing in many days either.  Really hoping to get the climbing started asap...rock climbing that is.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
