Burying your pet at the base of a popular climbing area.. what could go wrong?
|

A friend sent me this photo of a gravesite (presumably?) of a dog (presumably?) he found at the base of a very popular crag here in Colorado, about 100 meters from the road. I doubt a climber would think this was a good idea, since the beloved family friend is going to have 1000 climbers a year lowering off directly on top of Aera's resting place. Not to mention when the crag warms up in the spring, crag dogs are going to dig up whatever's buried there no doubt. It must be heartbreaking to lose your pet, but this can't be the right way to handle the burial. :( |

Well, a lot of Boulderites with their massive sense of entitlement regarding their dogs would be fine with it. |

In all the heated arguments I've seen in support of dogs at crags, not once has it been specified that the dog needs to be living. Get with the times, OP, dogs belong at crags. At least this one won't eat your lunch! |

Ahh the plot thickens, what will the dogs dig up first; Weed shit another dog? |

I can't ever imagine putting my dog in the ground. That is why I promised him I would get him taxidermized and bolt him to the wall. |

I get it. Did the same with Grandma. Tho in hindsight, ashes would’ve been hell of a lot easier. That hump to the lower saddle was a ball buster |

I was on the summit of a peak one time. Some dude spread his mother's ashes to the wind, while I was there. I saw him do it. I was downwind.... and felt her on my face and arms, probably breathed her in, too. Kind of gross but only in the imagination. He didn't hurt me and I didn't way a word. A pet cemetery at the base of a crag? I couldn't care less. if you don't like it, be a dick and steal the marker. |

Dude! |

Lmao. Is this East Colfax? |

Putting little fake pet gravestones at the base of every sport crag seems like a great troll. |

At least that dog won't piss on my stuff, bite me, etc . |

Couldn’t care less. Did you move the body? |

no joke, im chopping that headstone... |
