Whiteboard on harness

I've seen a whiteboard in some of Mark Hudon's trip reports. Is this primarily for writing reminders for when one gets to the next anchor? It seems like it could be pretty useful and I'm interested to hear more about this system if you're willing to share, Mark, or from others who employ this as well.

Cheers!

If I remember correctly that white board was part of a geological survey many climbers helped out with while doing their routes.  The survey was conducted by Roger Putnam.

Thanks Skot. I had thought it was to mitigate the big wall analogue of "did I turn off the kitchen stove before I left?" ha.

It was for Roger Putman's survey of the different rock on El Cap.

Here are the results of that wonderful, crowdsourced geologic mapping effort (click here for the publication)! Thanks, again, to Mark et al. for the help!!!
