Repost from lost and found so that somebody in the northeast cruising around this forum might see it...

The (almost) worst news of the week is that the outdoor education program I work for lost five (5) sets of ice tools on their way to a climbing trip in the Adirondack High Peaks. The current favorite theory is that they fell out of the side door of a trailer that opened twice while driving through the park on Friday last week (1/27). If so, they would be in a blue ikea bag on the side of the road somewhere, but truly they could be anywhere. If you find or see (being used or for sale) new nomics, xdreams, all-mountains, vipers, or quarks with "Colgate OE" engraved on them or with yellow nail polish in a circle around the shaft, please dm me, and I, about 50 other people, and my budgets would be ever grateful to you. Thanks.

If you haven't already, let the good folks at The Mountaineer know about this.

Does this mean there will be less groups hogging the crag?

I’ll keep an eye out for a blue ikea bag on the side of the road. Where did you leave and where did you notice they were gone?

Major bummer! on a related note about 20 years ago in burlington  VT an armored car went over the RR tracks and the back door swung open. a bag with 75k cash in it fell out. the elderly coupple who almost got hit by the cash followed the truck and gave the money back.  Got to love vt. last fall on my way to lunch  in woodstock VT all my tools fell out of the back of my truck.  on my way back from lunch they were all neatly stacked on the side of the road. got to love VT...

Years ago I took a friend out for his first day ice climbing. He returned the favor my leaving my spare tools in a snow bank at the parking area. They were the old Camp Awax and this was after their production stopped.

He posted on here and they were returned by a kind Québécois couple a few months later.

I hope you find the same good fortune.
