LOOKING TO BUY New Mexico Bouldering Guidebook

I live in Dallas and we do not have a whole lot of great outdoor climbing options around here. Arkansas is a common, 6 hour drive away destination, and Hueco Tanks is actually closer to y'all in Arizona and New Mexico than it is for me in Dallas, surprisingly (9.5 hours, brutal drive). There are some New Mexico climbs that are about the same trek as Hueco for Dallasites, however, and I really want some variety in my outdoor climbing season this year without spending buckets of money and time on travel to far away places.

I love guidebooks though. The New Mexico Bouldering Guidebook by Owen Summerscales is, of course, still out of print. Does anyone have an extra copy they would be willing to sell? Happy to pay well over what it listed for originally. I promise to observe Leave No Trace principles and leave the area(s) I visit in a better state than it was before!

I know it was placed on Vertical Life but I can't find just a straight PDF version anywhere. If someone does have a PDF that would be great too though, as a lesser alternative.

Thanks for the consideration either way!

I would also be interested in buying one if someone had one available.

Get the 1 month subscription on vertical life, take screenshots, then cancel the subscription. Screw the proliferation of 'you don't own anything' business models.

Does this work?  I feel I tried this and the app somehow prevented screenshots, though perhaps I'm misremembering.  I live about an hour and a half from Roy and would gladly fork over a reasonable amount for a paper copy, but I can't justify paying $250 or dying by a thousand cuts through the subscription model...

I feel like I should probably weigh in on this. First, I haven't seen a single penny from Vertical Life and every email I send to them I've been fobbed off with excuses. I did think though that it would work well as a stop gap while the book was out of print. A bit disappointed to hear that folks aren't happy with their subscription model (as a side-note, I despise Adobe for making their software subscription-based). I think it probably makes more sense in Europe, where VL is based, as you have access to more areas. Im not sure what else is in their DB for the US.

Second, I would like to print a second edition, or most probably a lightly modified first edition re-print. The company I used for printing went out of business during the pandemic sadly so will have to start from scratch on that. Eventually I would like to print a proper updated second edition, but I've got lots of my plate these days so don't hold your breath.

Thanks, Owen, for all the work you put into the first edition.  It's a beautiful book, a great resource for our community, and I'd love to have it in my collection.  Sorry to hear about your issues with Vertical Life (all the more reason I don't want to be supporting them).  If you do a reprint, put me on the list!

Does anyone have the link to the guide on Vertical Life? Or any other way to access? Thanks!
