Miss Catwrote: Just to stir the pot further, Sally's is burnt and Pepe's white clam isn't pizza, it's flatbread. I miss Burger Barn in Bishop, but a burger at the Rambler is a pretty solid substitute. Frosty Chalet down in Lone Pine or Walker Burger up north are worthy destinations, too. |

Some of my favorite spots from my time in the northeast: Gunks: Main Course - a little pricy but worth it once or twice a season, Mexican Kitchen (which after some googling I see burned down last year?! I guess they're rebuilding...) N Conway: Moat Mountain Acadia: Mainely Meat, Rose Eden Lobster Farley: Montague Mill For the front range of CO, beyond the usual suspects of Southern Sun and the Indian food in Boulder/Golden, Bob's Atomic Burgers in Golden and Dark Horse in Boulder both scratch the 'grease bomb double cheeseburger' itch nicely. |

For international listeners: Back in the day I spent many a rainy hour in here https://petes-eats.co.uk/ (Llanberis, North Wales) eating chip butties and drinking pints of tea. My favourite experience was sitting back with my leg on the table while a mate tried to stop the bleeding (slate can bite back), realising it needed stiches so waiting for the bus that would go past the hospital whilst drinking emergency tea. The staff and usual customers didn't bat an eyelid, proper climbers cafe, the couple of tourist types who walked in took one look at the blood and pile of soiled dressings then turned around and left howerver... Havent been in a few years I hope it's still as class. |

oldfattradguuy kkwrote: Make it yourself! It's not difficult at all, especially after you get a pizza stone for your oven.
It appeared right around the time I departed the Northeast - circa 2000. |

Boulder: For Mexican, Santo or the Rio, but I still miss Juanita's. Like Tom's Tavern, replaced by more high-end places. |

For real, way too many people sleeping on the asian food in Vegas. Someone else said 'nothing notable' in El Paso or Las Cruces upthread - I guess they meant nothing outside the 100s of great hole in the wall Mexican restaurants in both cities. For something unusual, Chico's Tacos is an El Paso junk food tex-mex institution. |

MattHwrote: ‘Found Nothing Notable ‘ meaning I tried. Applies to El Paso only. Las Cruces specifically, Old Mesilla, is fantastic for food. Basically, you can’t miss: Mexican of multiple varieties, American, Steaks, bakery in the morning. Andiamo Dog is what I remembered by name. But pretty much all the food there is excellent. |

Index: Maria's (Mexican food truck) in Sultan at the roundabout off of highway 2. Best Mexican food truck in the greater Seattle area. |

La MoMofacewrote: I was gonna ask about Moab - we're always camping and eating there, haven't really had a chance to eat in town. Maybe once at Moab Brewery, and I remember it being decent for food and beer. |

wendy weisswrote: I haven't been there in ages and ages, but Efrain's used to be my favorite low priced place in town. I remember the margaritas being strong and cheap. |

If you like your post-City of Rocks pizza expensive and only available a couple days a week, the place in Almo is not bad. Righteous beer selection, tho. |

Roma Deli II is my favorite after climbing in the Vegas area. The worst climbing area I’ve ever been with regards to food is maple canyon fucking grocery store is an hour+ away and there is a couple table deli as the only choice nearby. |

Noah Betzwrote: I would strongly disagree. Miguel’s is great pizza. Maybe you’re not into the scene that surrounds the place but it really is great. Redpoint is also great. Simply an excellent addition to the gorge. But the Rockhouse? They fill a hole, and that is food when you’re hungry. It’s just bland cafeteria style food. Most of it was probably in the freezer or in plastic bags before I ordered. I’ve eaten there twice, they never had anything I couldn’t make better at home. Sometimes you’re hungry and sometimes they don’t have a line. That doesn’t make them good. |
