This multipitch leads you deep through brush and forest and across a creek on the approach (hmm, that's like half the climbs in Washington...), along with some approach slabs which feel very sketchy when wet (which is quite often). The second pitch is only 4th class, but many of the later pitches make up for it, including a sweet finger crack underneath fun knob climbing and an eponymous flake. |

Pitch one of six on this classic route resembles the 7th pitch of a long desert route in SW Utah, the second pitch of a route in WY, along with other routes throughout the PNW. However all of those other routes are on different rock types than the intention of the clue. Bonus if you get either of the non-PNW routes. |
