Foster Falls - trail to Wall of Useless Conflict
|
We tried to go there last week and a giant waterfall covered the trail between Red Light District and the Music Wall/5.9 Area. We didn't bother scrambling rocks so we just turned around. Is the waterfall still there? Or is the trail passable? Alternatively if not, will the rappel station at the end of the trail work well enough? Might try again this weekend if weather permits. |

You just have to find a way across the stream down from the waterfall, you can usually find a low and a higher trail across. If I remember correctly, there is a big rock you can hop across, it is definitely slippery and wet so do be careful. The water fall is seasonal, it won’t be there in the dry seasons |

JC D wrote: Thank you! The big rock does look a bit precarious but passable. Last week there were virtually no climbers around and we weren't sure about the situation. Dry seasons - do you know when it would be? I thought winter would be rather dry...I assume in spring the water is going to be flowing since it rains in SE. If it's dry most of the time, I'd rather go back when the trail is dry - I'm "only" 2hrs from Foster... |

late summer and into most of fall will be pretty dry. I have done it many times when waterfall is wet, it's precarious but doable, this weekend you can probably take your shoes off and it wont be cold |

Any luck this past weekend? Had a friend that make it across on Friday, said it was chill |

You just cross the creek. Should be an obvious trail to it |
