Soloist Death Ek Cajon Mountain San Diego

From witnesses at the crag, he said he was going up the route  Meteor which is a 5.8 then he proceeded to climb up leonids which is a 5.9.

The routes meet up: one goes left one goes right.

Condolences to the young mans friends and family.  Anybody who's free soloing face climbs that they have not done before is asking for it.

ECM is a face and sport  climbing place with exfoliating Rock and loose holds everywhere.
