22/23 Season pick options without Krukonogi?

What's everyone doing for picks this season? Now that we are in an active proxy war with Russia and Krukonogi picks are virtually impossible to get, what is going to be your choice for aftermarket picks when you want durability/specialty shapes?

Indeed, bought crampons front points from them mid season last winter and they are as tough as it gets.

I bought some Steinle front points for my Darts and Nomic ice picks last spring before going to AK. I'm definitely happy with their quality. Would love to see them come out with a pick as thin as the pur ice.

They have no way way to ship or receive payment all their metal was confiscated for the “special action” the workers all fled to avoid conscription. On the upside Kherson has been liberated so the war may be slowing down until spring.

Let us not talk politics here. Your vision of “upside” and “liberation” can not be taken for granted. Also, it’s hardly a “liberation” when the place was abandoned, in orderly fashion. You might do some research into how Ukraine has treated its own citizens in eastern Ukraine over the past 8 years and how the US has used Ukraine as a means to stir shit up on Russia’s border. Additionally “the workers all fled to avoid conscription”…wtf you talking about??

Being upfront here I am co-owner of Furnace Industries just to get that out of the way first here. We were carrying Krukonogi gear up until the sanctions went into effect and no we are not getting anything from them until the sanctions are lifted. With that said we are now carrying Mixed Picks and mixed & comp Frontpoints from Kuznia Szpeju for anyone who is looking for alternatives. If you are looking for something specfic that you do no see on our site you can email me nick@furnace-industries.com and I'll see if we can get it for you.

I would also recommend checking out Sport Steinle out of Germany their gear is fantastic as well.

Hope this helps everyone!

I give up WTF are YOU talking about?!? Do you work for the the f*cking Kremlin or what?!? Russia has committed multiple atrocities in Ukraine the summary torture rape and murder of Ukrainian civilians en masse, brutalization and murder of Ukrainian POWs their actions are indefensible. #slavaukranii

I'm actually surprised how quickly this took a hard left (or right).

Please take your political argument to the general forum where it belongs.

Cotter, should we take this to the general forum? There we can discuss atrocities from the Ukrainian side as well. And no, I don’t work for the Kremlin. I just read history and I don’t watch CNN. And I’m not a democrat either!

Anyone who's used the Steinle ice picks (Nomic) or the Grivel Katanas able to put a top bevel on them? Steinles are flat ground on top and the Grivels are rounded. After a lot of work with a couple diamond files I was able to get a slight bevel on the Grivel and have made very little progress on the Steinles. Seems like it would take many hours to finish the job. I really dislike unbeveled picks for ice; huge pain to clean sticks, sends more ice down-route than necessary.

Not quite true. They can ship thought it takes awhile. In theory they can receive payments as well (though I’m not sure how rn). I don’t believe you can order anything off their website but the best course of action would be to dm them on instagram @krukonogi_titanium or contact them through their website www.krukonogi-titanium.com/contact-us. They’ll tell you what is possible and what isn’t.

I was thinking of taking my Dremel to my steinle front points, they're hard as hell. I'm worried it would damage the points though?

I think the key there is just going slow so as to not affect any heat treatment. So do a bit, then stop, then do a bit, etc. Lots of world cup folks bring dremmels for quick sharpening

Any recommendations that have compatible picks for Grivel tools (The Tech Machine specifically)?

The new razor pics are on par with the kruks imo.  Have both and am happy with both.  I got the razors a couple weeks ago -minimal use so far

Sorry.  Replying to grivel pics

In terms of geometry. The dark machine and nomics are nearly identical
