In Search of 9/16” Supertape

Anybody know who else sells what FISH Products refers to as
“9/16" SUPER TIE-OFF WEBBING. Product info: This 9/16" Tie-Off web is thin enough to thread through the eye of pitons easily or behind a truly dicey pin that is hanging out a mile. Don't mistake this with the lighter duty 1/2" Tie Off Webbing sold elsewhere. Our Super Tie Off web is 50% stronger than the 1/2" variety. Also note, this is not that thick 9/16" SuperTape webbing that is normally too thick to use as tieoffs. A loop of this tied with a water knot will break at about 2600lbs.” I like the webbing for slinging hooks, etc as it’s light, thin, and the knot cinches down tight. I’ve bought it from FISH previously, but they are sold out and are out of the office this month. Anyone know any other suppliers of the tape. Grappling hook picture for size |

The stuff is Mil-Spec parachute webbing, 9/16 MIL-W-5625 to be exact (three dotted lines..) Paragear sells the stuff by the yard for $1.50, if you want a better deal you can purchase a spool from a textile company like ballyribbon. |

Kristoffer Wickstromwrote: Thanks for the detailed info. So is regular "tie off" webbing just the 1/2" version of that? |

Edelrid Tech Webbing is 12mm wide and rated to 15kN, it could be a good replacement |

Tyler Swrote: Tyler, I have been after the same webbing myself since I can’t get it through FISH currently. If you find a good deal on a spool and want to split it let me know. |

I have the remnants of this spool here that I will let go for $1 a yard, I also have more coming if anyone wants longer lengths, same price.
