[REDACTED] Argument - 5.7+ (Wild River Crag, CO)

All you have are these exaggerations and meaningless diversions. I have no clue what you're talking about a child molester or a kid getting injured. The subject here is the one that is being discussed. Gabby Petito's Last Argument does not rise to the level of Catcher in the Rye. This site can't do anything about 1984 being banned. As far as talking to the admin goes, I edited the route description to something anyone could see is more palatable and humane and they said "No thank, you". Maybe, like you said, I could go back and send them an article explaining how she was murdered in cold blood by a psycho that thought he could simply get away with it. I am really not sure. It seems like people in Colorado simply don't care about stuff like this if multiple people have tried to suggest changes that they have denied.

To chad, people should be allowed to be pieces of s***. Pretending they do not exist does not seem to work.

Is it though. A library is a public resource of shared knowledge

Liberal groups are also making moves to ban books, I think American Dirt was on their lists.

We have to remember the admins are volunteers, they probably just wanna avoid the drama. But to everyone else with their arms up, why is some idoit named puppy lover the first comment on the route? As far as I can tell MP can't remove comments but they can decline route descriptions.

You're an anonymous, selfish troll.  I can't take anything you say seriously or engage with you in an actual discussion.  I don't care what you have to say, how highly you think of yourself, or how much you want to make things about you.  You're a troll.  If you want to be taken seriously and respected then earn it.  Until then, go away troll.

Also you are far from the only person to comment on victim abuse here. Stop always trying to make it about your-self its the worst part about you.

It is hard to take any of you seriously when a thread has 100 comments and an idiot named puppy lover is the only person willing to comment on the route. It is absolutely horrific. I really don't know what to say.

I think you'd do more to help many situations by simply not saying anything. I get it, the "even an IDIOT like ME is somehow morally superior than all you unwashed masses" and dude: it's tiring. This is tiring. It's just another retread of your shtick. Now this thread's all about you.

Back on topic.

Has anyone attempted to contact the person who put up the route and ask them to change the name?

Then you write a comment and I will delete mine.

Your negotiation tactics are strangely toxic, if you didn't know - this is how people act in abusive relationships. An issue arises that's important to ONE person, and they make it an issue for the OTHER person by trying to passively manipulate them to do what they want, exerting their control over the person. It starts working for little things, until they manipulate someone to do much bigger things, slowly stripping away the autonomy (and self worth) of the other.

Your other tactic is also that to solve this problem, one must escalate the situation - ask people to get pitchforks out. Escalating is not the same as resolving the situation, which may require something more thoughtful.

Or you know what? Not every problem is my problem.  I actually have problems that are more important to my life and I get to choose how to spend my time.

I don't know the FA or the admins for the area.  But I would be ashamed to leave this up if I was an admin.

Yes

(Edit to Powderfinger:  never met him personally, but I am at least tangentially familiar with him over the years)

Who ever named this route is a juvenile, childish,  POS.

But I’d give them a troll ratting of 9.5/10.

Seems like most people on this thread are not familiar with Jim Beyer.  If you are then it gives this whole thread a slightly different perspective.

I doubt he will respond to anybody trying to contact him but if he does report back with what he replies because it should be interesting.

Anyone who doesn't know of the controversy Jim Beyer creates can reference these couple threads:

As Dean Fidelman writes in one of the posts, "Jim is a Baddass and a Madman, the stuff of Legends. . .df "

Out of curiosity, I'd like to meet Beyer one day. The couple people I know who have climbed with him have a lot of respect for him as a climber....

Beyer does seem quite interesting. Looking through his profile, topos, etc, pretty intriguing.

Looks like I missed the Trevor melt down while at lunch, seems to have lost his shit on this one.  Ugly way to go too, arguments were criss-crossing all over the place.

Don’t count him out just yet.  He said he was gonna “piece” out.   Not sure anyone knows what that entails exactly….

Beyer doesn't even have to post on the forum at all to get all this attention, next level trolling is what we have here!

Trev, this could be a learning moment bud

Trev is the nickelback of mountain proj. People can say they hate all they want, but when “photograph” comes on we are all singing along…

I know a rock climber who called the police when her boyfriend was banging her head on the ground hard enough to give her a concussion. She tried to fend him off which caused a scratch on his neck. Police took her to jail for assault. They handcuffed her to a chair until she pissed on herself while she had a concussion. When I looked into cases like this after hearing about this, many women say police often will say the women is the one who is being violent when they call police for domestic violence help. Sounds like that happened to Gabby and she eventually paid for that with her life.  It definitely made me think I need to think twice before I call the police if I am ever a victim of domestic violence. I am grateful to say my friend and rock climbing partner did survive and didn’t get killed. But can you imagine her thinking about going to this crag and reading this description?  Shame on all of you who are defending this. MP can be a really disappointing place.

Free speech (and route naming) exists so we can tell who the assholes are.
