I just came across some notes to what was going to be a guide to this area about 6 years ago by Herb Stillman. If anyone is interested I can copy and mail it Or maybe post it all up (12 pages) ?? |

John, I would love to get my hands on a copy of that. I'm sure there are others on the forum that would be interested as well, so maybe posting would be the easiest thing to do. If not, could you email it to me? |

John Goodlander wrote: Hey guys throwing my name out there if anyone is looking for weekday afternoon / evening partners in the area. I can get down to Red Rock or surrounding areas by 3:00 ish in the spring / summer. Also down to climb at Pway or Longstack on weekdays. Happy to boulder or rope up. Shoot me a message on here or send me a text at 603 856 1959. Sounds good John! I’d like to come check out the Portsmouth area sometime too! |

Hey Dfrench and trundlebum, did john ever send you his notes? |
|
|
Hi, Tim. John very kindly sent me the rough draft pages back in 2009. They were notes written on a typewriter, no photos or topos. I seem to recall already being familiar with the areas mentioned and thinking that the descriptions were very similar to what was published in Boston Rocks. I don't remember there being much in the way of route details or historical info. I've moved twice since then but probably still have the pages somewhere in a box. If I come across them I'll be sure to scan and post here, at least for posterity. Happy climbing. |

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but...I have been to Redrocks in Glouchester numerous times and LOVE it - Zipper remains one of my favorite trad leads each time I do it - what other places in the area have good trad lines? Am I missing out? THANKS!!! |

Josh Rappoportwrote: Check out Dorset St. Pretty good lines and some bolts. I’d say Gymnasium/Cavalry has a couple longer lines too. There are some hidden spots too. Not a ton of Trad in cape ann. Tons of bouldering. Are you interested in hard trad in cape Ann? Let me know. |

Spencer Ringwoodwrote: John was a great guy and an amazing spotter (he was built like a linebacker). He is missed in the New England climbing community for sure! |

DFrenchwrote: Very cool! It would be awesome, especially since he has passed. A bit of a tribute as well. I’m guessing all the spots are up here already too. |
