For me, Berlioz’s Symphony Fantastique, specifically the March to the Scaffold movement, would be most appropriate for any difficult gym route I might attempt to project.

It a gym, therefore hyper aggressive tunes are mandatory.

We all know bouldering is the best part of any gym so therefore we should lean into some heavy bass and bro-step, of course.

Just for Starters:

Excision

Subtronics

Svdden Death

Barely Alive

Rezz

Basically, if whatever banger is playing has the potential to increase your climbing limit by 1 grade or more, then we should have a playlist full of that stuff

No “angry young man” music. Climbing is too zen for death metal

I listen to different music. Most often something fast, with strong beats to get the rhythm. I've recently payed for distrokid music app that I found interesting, but they blocked my access the other day. I found their contacts at https://distrokid.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html, but they haven't solved the problem yet. What music apps or streaming services do you use?

I frequent a gym in Atlanta and last time I was there they played a remix of Hedwigs theme (the Harry Potter theme song). Beat drop and all.

Edit: personal I prefer John Denver for sending music.

Two Hanks agree, John Denver has me clipping the chains every time! Shit should almost be  considered aid.

I’ll never forget when the gym close to my spot played electro-swing for FOUR hours once. Pure hate fueled my climbing session that day. I didn’t even know there was four hours of that muck.

I do wish gyms played more aggressive hardcore/punk/metal music in stead of gentrified goop. I definitely pull harder when I hear Black Flag and not Lo-Fi Chill Hip Hop Beats to Study/Relax Too.

I would agree John Denver is aid. I climb v8 normally, but v10 with JD in my ears.
