Cool, love those dudes at Alpenglow it’s awesome to have a gear shop in town!!! No did not do those routes but love to go back there for sure this season and check it out and going back to Disappearing Dome as well, not sure if the Alpenglow dudes finished there, John and Sue’s crew and Johnny Woodward and his partner all be busy there over the past few years, me I have been put up boulder problems and a hand full on routes over at Jackass Rock Area the past few years. Those areas with Chiquito Dome as well are the first area to open up early in the season :-) |

Mike Arechigawrote: Hey Mike....is this a recent pic???? |

Shuteye is buried in snow. The roads won't be open until June or July this year most likely. Mike's pic looks like it predates the 2020 Creek Fire, the friend rock camp is toast now |

I think some of the pics not only predate the Creek Fire, they predate the French Fire as well. Most areas don't look like that anymore. Pretty much everything around the Buttes and Disappearing was totally scorched by the Creek Fire. Fortunately the rock seems to have come through it pretty well. Agree. With the snowpack, plus the coming melt runoff, June or July is seeming most likely this year. The Mammoth Pool spillway is probably going to be spectacular for quite some time. I can imagine how impressive it would be going down the road that's right beside it while it's raging. |
