Just didn't realize they were colorizing it in a similar manner to Hubble now. I've only seen some of the more raw data "photos" (I mean they are already colorized to some extent since JWST doesn't deal with the visible spectrum) so far and didn't think to look at the star points which yes I understand the mechanics of how those artifacts happen.
