I think I may make one just to play around. Anything special you do to make it stay flat? Just looks like a single pass zig-zag stitch along the length.

Yeah, just take the core out and do a zigzag stitch. You may also have to adjust your tension settings for it to work well with the climbing rope.

At $25/belt I hope you are making these in less than an hour, preferably 30 minutes. Or know it’s a labor of love (charity/hobby), and not profit.

Black Diamond is selling mass produced in China belts. They are not your competition.

Yeah, it’s definitely not extremely profitable for me, but I do like making them. If I could consistently sell them, then it would actually not be that bad of an hourly rate.

you could also make belts that can be tied shut

like skateboarders use shoe strings and a knot

buckles do not work well with a harness on

also make a shoulder sling with 4-5 outter loops for trad gear

also sunglasses keepers

and caulk bags with belt and pocket for a big size phone

and while on a climb a phone case and leash

and dog leashes and dog collars

Those would all be really cool I’ll have to try making some of them. For the belts that can be tied shut would you suggest just having my normal belt without a buckle or adding some sort of thinner rope on the end?

if you wanted to offer the service of making a belt out of a rope somebody sent in the shipping shouldn’t be to much. Just tell them how much rope to send and have them pull the core strands out. I’m sure that would not cost much via USPS.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about people pulling the inside out before sending it. That would definitely work.

For anyone that wants a custom belt made from your own climbing rope, you can email me at joshua@fitzoutfitters.com and I'll send you an address to mail the rope to. I can also do custom buckles if you happen to have one laying around that you like. For anyone who wants to buy a premade belt, check out my website: fitzoutfitters.com

How about a sewn loop at one end. Thread the other end through the loop and tie a single sheet bend.

That's how I tie on my chalk bag.

I also offer these bracelets now. If anyone is interested, here is my website: https://fitzoutfitters.com/

The bracelets are at the bottom of the website, so if you want to check them out, scroll all the way down.

Always great to see ropes really anything repurposed. I use mine for my hop trellis but have sold old ropes to horse packers and ranchers. In my local gym the ropes are woven and used for bench seats.

That's a pretty cool idea to weave them into bench seats. Are they actually comfortable or are they more for decoration?

Same as above. I’d consider buying one if it had a different buckle.

I just added some new buckles, and they are live on my website right now. To see them you have to click on a belt, and then you can choose the buckle you want.

Here is my website if you are interested in buying a belt or a bracelet: https://fitzoutfitters.com/

Oh that's really weird, did they ever end up loading? I checked and it seems to be working fine, but please let me know if it still doesn't work.

Bench with ropes:

They are fine for casual sitting in the gym. There are some others that are twice as long.

Some people emailed me about this so i wanted to put this on here: You will typically receive your belt within a week of ordering it. I mail them within 3 days and it takes another 2 to 5 days to ship, but it is usually on the shorter end of that.

Also, I offer free shipping on everything

What do you do with the cores from the rope? Just curious. Belts are cool.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
