Going to Branson MO for a reunion. Thankfully I have some stoked cousins. Shadow Rock looks cool… any more beta than what’s on MP? Are there any other spots in the area?

Go south to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in north central Arkansas.

We can’t drive that far. Anyone heard about pilots knob?

I would contact the area admin. I live in Columbia and from my experience MP does not have great beta for MO.

Ok. Does anyone have the SW Missouri bouldering guide?

hey seth i might be able to lend it to you if you can make it up to Scott valley before you leave, i got to find it first from my move. There was not any more on shadow rock in the guidebook though.  i would suggest within an hour of Branson that's not Arkansas would be Peter's Branch, although Shadow Rock does look cool. Additionally, the only Pilot Knob I know and as well as a google search confirmation is on the other side of the state near elephant rocks. I would also recommend reaching out on the Kansas City Climbing Club Facebook as well, you also could probably pick up a copy at the climbing gym in Springfield

I have the book as well if you're coming through St. Louis.

Peter's Branch might be your best bet for proximity etc. Not quite as bullet hard as Arkansas, but still pretty good.

A little further east is the Big Piney region, which has better quality rock. That being said, it may be just as much of a drive for you as dipping into Arkansas.

Seth, sorry to revive an old thread, but how often do you come to the area?

I'm somewhat local, (an hour and a half from Peter's Branch) and go frequently during season. If you're down sometime and I'm free, I'd love to come show you the area and work on some projects.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
