Hi All, does anyone know if there is currently cell service at or around the Emeralds? It’s off Hwy 20 Lake Bowman Road Exit. We are hoping to meet up w a crew and camp at Rucker Lake. Is there service at the crag and/or Rucker Lake? Thanks!

It would probably depend on your service provider. Check out the app OpenSignal.

I have a note to myself that we had ATT coverage at the crag, but I don’t actually remember at all

Last time I went, I lost service right about when I took the exit off HWY 20. There's spotty reception at best, and I would not rely on it. I would plan to meet your crew at a specific crag at a specific time, or at the central meeting area that most people park at for the Emeralds or where normal hikers / tourists park. It's right when you get to the bottom of that paved road coming in.

From the MP Page regarding the normal parking area: * Just before the bridge that crosses the Yuba River, there is a dirt access road. It is now gated and locked, so park across the bridge, then continue on foot.

I was there a few weekends ago. I have TMobile and the reception was spotty. I had good reception on Nagativity Ledge, but most places on the approach trail I had little to none.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
