Noah Kane shorts comments

Anyone else get driven nuts by the normies that think all us climbers are like one piece of choss away from dying? "Sorry but the statistics don't agree with 'is pretty safe when you do it right' people die like bugs in a windshield during summer when practicing climbing" was the one that drove me up the wall when I saw it. Can't remember the last time I only hit 30 bugs a year on an entire continent. And these people get behind the wheel of a car and go 70 mph like it's nothing.... |

Are normies people who don't wear their harnesses under their pants? But seriously, maybe that attention whore youtuber is on to something. Let the general population think climbing is dangerous, so that they don't want to try it. |

Don't sweat the normies. On the internet, folks have agreed to pretend that hyperbole == humor. No one actually laughs out loud. |

OK. Y'all are confusing me, so I had to Google 'muggle'. Having never seen a single Hairy Potter movie (and no desire to do so), I at least get the reference now. And before anyone else jumps in, I generally dislike magical fantasy stories - eg: I despise Tolkien. Tried to read The Hobbit once and tossed it after 30 or so pages of dreck. |

These are the posts we need in General Climbing. |

Who? There's armchair experts on every topic imaginable, I find it's best to not interact or care. |

Marc801 Cwrote: Marc, I don't really like magic/fantasy either (much prefer sci fi- Arthur Clark stuff) but enjoyed Harry Potter. The first couple books are good, but I lost interest after #4 because subsequent editions had hundreds of more pages than the previous, consisting of a lot of filler. I loved the LOTR trilogy films, my dad and I went to see all of them on opening night which is a cherished memory from my childhood. Maybe it's just getting older and things in this world are less mysterious but the genre has lost it's appeal for me. Everything changes, so maybe Harry Potter wouldn't be a waste of your time to pick up and thumb through. Just a thought. stay open minded brother. |
