The legendary Oklahoma Boys gifted me this guidebook in gratitude for our time together. Now that big granite is in season, my time in the desert has concluded. Therefore, I thought it only fitting to pass along this book to the next group of travellers.

If you are on a mission to Moab (especially if it's your first time) and would like to use this, hit me up. I'll cover shipping or hand it off to you in GJ with a spliff or PBR.

Document your adventures on the cover page, and then use this forum to pass it along to the next group of adventurers in the style of Brotherhood of the Traveling Stopper. After a year or so, this book will hopefully be imbued with righteous kleos from many desert voyages.

And then how to vet. A deep hole.

As stated above, sweet idea, difficult to implement.

Probably easiest to meet people at the crag who are missing pieces and help there.

Been that, done there.

Plan on heading to the desert to sweat my ass off most weekends- I’ll gladly add some character and pass it on to the next participant.

Define "those who cannot afford their own". And then why can they not afford their own but they can afford to get to climbing areas or afford to not work but can go play? Are they on disability? Are they a college student? I'm all for giving and being kind. Just seems like something that can easily be taken advantage of. Just a real take. I think it's a noble idea but it's very complicated.

In my opinion it’s not complicated, you just give stuff away to people who want it and hope they pay it forward. I’m giving someone a full set of nuts and some other random stuff that was given to me when I first started out, hopefully they do the same, if not it doesn’t really matter.Did this topic move to a new thread yet? As restitution for my rant here I’ll give away one carabiner to anyone who can’t afford one, free shipping.

This summer will be my very first time in Moab and Utah altogether. Would love to nerd out in there after my experience!

I recently helped a friend clean out some of her late husbands gear and I've got 5 or 6 ropes all 10+ years old that shouldn't be climbed on. I'm hoping to find a good home for them. My guess is 9mm-11mm. I am in Albuquerque but happy to split shipping or pay the the whole postage depending on the cause. Once upon a time was there a guy who used retired ropes to make leashes for shelter dogs? Or am I making that up? Any ideas?

I might be interested in these for nonclimbing projects.

Let me know if they are still available.

Thanks

The Brown Gotem was a gift from my mom, who is a missionary to South Sudan, and Boaris was a gift from everyone's favorite old lady. The cord is chopped tat from a significant adventure. Combined, they are worth far more to me than any pair of shoes I own (even Kataki 42.5 resoled with Stealth [ISO more Katakii 42-43, pm me]).

The black 1mm is just because the Brown Gotem asked Santa Claws for a longer tail for Christmas.

Shoe has been taken by someone who donated to the illest LCO ever, the Upper Peninsula Climbing Coalition. Those muthafuggaz spend more time/effort/money per capita than certain larger groups.

Free Kindle, unopened. I got it as a party favor at an IT conference but already have an iPansy and would rather regift it to a climber. You can hammer it into a purple Metolius crack and clip the lanyard, but it's only rated to half a kilonewton. Or use it as cougar bait at Castle Valley to lure in those offwidth soccer moms, just be sure you have "Fifty Shades of Grey Camalot" downloaded.

Help the USPS and pay for shipping on two pieces of clothes:

Free Dead Bird jacket to anyone interested, this jacket was gifted to me and worn with love. I have found that I now have too many jackets - so passing it along. Size medium with a small hole in the back and a zipper repaired by Patagonia. Works most of the time!

Snowpantz from Mtn. Hardware: Thats it. They're good pants. Got some bibs I like, would love to pass these on. Size 28/30 waist!
