Hi there I’m a travel nurse starting June 6 and need a place until sept 9. I just need a shower and a safe place to park for the day while I bus or bike into work! I have a converted ram promaster and will be staying in it. Pls let me know! |

If you don’t get any bites, you may want to check out monthly parking lots close to Seattle Boulder Project gym locations. They have a “climbing gym meets WeWork” thing going on. As a heads up- I’d personally be pretty choosey about where I’d be parking my van, unattended, outside, for long stretches of time. You may want to visit the locations prior to making a decision. |

My last month in Freemont when I lived next to the troll I had: Homeless person break into my car and sleep in it. I walked past a homeless guy and he said, " HOT DAYUM YOUR DOG GOT DEM ANGEL PETAL PAWS.....YOU CAN"T HEAR THAT LITTLE GUY" (some of the homeless people are perfectly nice) My old apartment is no more as it had a meth lab explosion. Magnolia is probably has the least homeless person problem but it adds another 20min to getting out of Seattle. As long as there is a tallish fence I think you should be fine. But I would not park in an open driveway. |

Saaraa - I lived in my van in Seattle with no issues and I've had a couple car-dwelling friends park in my open driveway in South Seattle with no problems. Good luck finding a spot! Just wanted to throw in a contrasting antidote to the guys above. |

My original comment seems to have picked apart a bit to read that every place is terrible to park at. The intent was to say that there are some monthly lots around my SBP gym recommendation that wouldn't seem like good choices, and they may be hard to identify from a few hundred miles away. I dont know if PPL's experience is real, exaggerated, or maybe a joke? I've lived in downtown Seattle for a bit more than a decade and that isn't the typical experience anybody I know has had. I personally haven't had a problem with a bit of street smarts. My wife and my's van is parked in downtown Seattle in our residential garage with zero problems. |

Downtown Seattle sucks - choose an outlying area for better quality of life. Or just work remote, lots of sweet places with good services and real climbing nearby. |

My comment was 100% true and not hyperbole. Friends who have parking behind a fence or in a garage have almost no issues with homeless people. For people street parking or in an open driveway have had significantly worse luck. Last week my friend had their forerunner stolen, it was taken to a chop shop and then it was parked in the middle of the road in Tukwila. If your whole life is in the van it is worth having a safe spot to park it. |

Thx guys. I just found a place in Ballard but still have only street parking. I’ll prob empty the van of alll belongings. Get a club for the steering wheel and install a gps car alarm. Alternative is buying a car for cheap in Colorado and leaving the van at home for this assignment. Thx for all the advice everyone |

What's a driveway worth out of curiosity? |
