For those of us without the gram, who can’t view any of the posts or comments, could you kindly relay the updates?

Post reads:

"Part I

On April 1 The Forest Service lifted closures at Lover’s Leap. Recent snowmelt paired with poor soil stability from Caldor Fire has left climber trails in very rough condition. Many trees, bushes and shrubs are gone making it a real challenge to find your bearings.

CRAGS and @Loversleapguides spent the day assessing, posting temporary signage and marking existing trails at Lower Buttress, East Wall, Hogsback and the East Wall Descent. If you climb at Lover’s Leap this week please follow signage, do not remove yellow trail markers, and be prepared for lots of mud.

A great option for the next few weeks is to explore the amazing Sugar Loaf which was spared from Caldor completely.

P.S. Head over to @loverleapguides page for some serious Sugar Loaf motivation and granite razzledazzle.

Part II coming soon.."

Plus some pictures of temporary signage and flagging of climbers trails.

The spires are open now too. Unfortunately the area around middle spire was completely torched (sorry for my finger in the photo).

The little alcove on the NW side of the upper spire survived, including the big tree that survived the previous fire, so at least there's that.

The trail from the parking to middle spire is ok. The trail to upper spire will need some work to keep people on it, as it's no longer obvious.

What's the road situation/condition to get there?

Thanks, JCM.

Damn, sobering photos. Let's hope everyone is mindful of their impact on trails and does their part to keep things from eroding too severely.

LOVER'S LEAP IS OPEN.

Park anywhere NOT on Strawberry Ct.

Areas between Hogsback and Lower Buttress (the Valley) is burned over. Stay on the flagged and cairn marked trails.

Lots of snow still at the base of North facing walls.

Great climbing yesterday.

Have fun!!

Awesome news!  Assuming the campsite is still closed?

Campsites are closed, climbing is open. Trails are well-marked with flags/tape/carins, thanks to Petch, CRAGS, and I assume other locals.

Please post pictures of any and everything if you go there please. I’d like to see the damage up close.

CRAGS is having a trail cleanup and restoration April 10th. That’s this Sunday for anyone available. I won’t be able to make it.

Could an Admin get rid of the warning on this page:  https://www.mountainproject.com/area/110561742/south-shore

"Access Issue: The Caldor Fire is actively burning-DO NOT JEOPARDIZE ACCESS BY ATTEMPTING TO ACCESS CLOSED AREAS"

A bit out of date...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
