How do I clean a rope?
|
|
It's dusty enough to leave a trail through the gym, the front desk people were not very happy. Any ideas? |

Tie it up in a tight daisy chain, or put it in a large mesh bag, then wash it in a front load machine. Good results even without soap or used approved rope soap. |

bathtub and woolite if you don't have a front loader. |

I do mine In a top loader on warm with no detergent. Had nothing but good results |

Daisy chain + top loader + cold water w/o detergent on gentle cycle is my usual method. Works well. |

Not much to it. I throw in some Sport Wash but you can try it with just water first and see if you're satisfied. |

Very carefully. [Ba Dum Ch] |

Just toss it in any washer. Use woolite and deal with the tangled mess when you pull it out. Spread it out on some beach towels to dry. |

I do daisy chain in a top load washer, no bag. Lay the daisy chain around the washer so the spin cycle works to get a lot of the water out. No soap if it's just dusty. If it's been through the mud then a little woolite. Hang up outside in the shade. Turn over a few times to allow all spots to dry. When dry undo the daisy chain, it's was easier to handle and move around when daisy chained. |

Throw the coil down on the driveway. Hose it off taking pause to lightly step on it, squeezing the dirt out. Hang to dry… good enough! Throw your stinky shoes in there while you’re at it. |

This thing works great with a tub of warm water and also gives a decent arm workout: |

Someone on r/climbing put it in a tub of water and scrubbed down the whole thing with a toothbrush. If you have 5 hours to spare and want carpal tunnel as an excuse for not sending you could try that |

When drying any rope, if you have a folding or 'A' style ladder you can drape the rope over the ladder and it will air out nicely. Just keep it out of direct sun light for the best results. Good luck! |

Take it ice climbing in the spring. |

What is daisy chaining a rope? How do I do this cool rope trick? I can’t really visualize it- all I’m thinking of is a PAS. |
