Hello everybody,

I’m looking at moving up to the pnw as soon as spring time rolls around and I am looking for work. Not to picky on where exactly just want to be in Oregon and or Washington. I’m a woodworker and build out camper vans as well as other carpenter work. I make leather goods and surfboards on the side as well. I live in my truck so I don’t need to worry about housing. Farm and ranch style work preferred but open to anything!

As much farm and ranch work as you want in Central Washington, Wenatchee/Yakima area would be your best bet. They have to hire  you, give you  housing and pay a minimum of $17.41 per hour

The Federal Agencies; USFS, BLM, NPS, USFW, BIA are always looking for temp employees to fill a variety of jobs ranging from Wild Land Fire, to Recreation, to Admin positions.  USAJOBS.GOV would be a good place to start looking.

I have looked. It is really hard to get in contact with the agencies directly. I have used usajobs before to apply for positions but i have never gotten a reply even when fully qualified for the job. Thanks for the help anyways

Putting the application into USAJOBS is the first step, don't expect a reply back.  Call the specific Field Office (BLM) , Ranger Station (USFS), or Refuge (USFW) of the location you want to work, and ask to talk to the hiring manager for the department you want to work in.

Top pay in most trades right now.  Desperate need for skilled carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.  Pick a city and go for it.  Most will give days off for climbing etc.  It’s raft season in Spokane, river was 20,000 cfs and spring climbing just starting.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
