Cheap International Sends
|

Hey Y’all Looking into finding some spots that are outside the US for a climbing trip. The restraints I’m looking for are: relatively cheap to get to/ be at, where to fly into, and whatever other personal recommendations you have! Would love to get on a budgeted but epic trip for spring break or late May. Lmk! |

El Potrero and Thailand are the usual go-to places for this. |

Viñales, Cuba |

Anyone else thought this was a thread about soft international climbs? |

Take note of the time of year. Several of the areas being suggested here, such as EPC, are generally warm places ideal for getting away from the snow in mid-winter. For spring break EPC may be getting a bit toasty, but still doable. By late May it's much too hot. |

Really cheap: drive and camp here? |

Mexico City, where you have jilotepec, Peña de Bernal, Dinamos, mineral del Chico, among others, not too far away. Plus an abundance of moderate high altitude mountaineering, and even some recently developed alpine climbing routes on Iztaccihuatl (zone el tanque), if that is your thing |

Not exactly outside the US, but Puerto Rico has some great sport climbing. Southwest flights are super cheap, stay in Manati or Ciales. Cheap food, cheap lodging, sharp, bolted limestone. |
