Accidents in North American Climbing - Accepting Stories from 2021

If you were involved in a climbing accident in 2021, please consider submitting details of your accident for potential inclusion in the next edition of Accidents in North American Climbing via the online submission form: http://publications.americanalpineclub.org/about_the_accidents

We welcome first-person reports about technical climbing accidents, as well as reports and analysis from rescuers, rangers, and other individuals familiar with the incidents. The person(s) involved may choose to remain anonymous. Your experiences can teach others and help climbers avoid similar problems in the future. Feel free to reach out to your Front Range regional editor at frontrange_editor@americanalpineclub.org or Western Slope regional editor at westernslope_editor@americanalpineclub.org with any questions you may have!

I emailed the front range coordinator early this week and still have not gotten a response. Could you please ask them to check their email?

Hi Ashton!

I submitted a report back in September and was emailed and told:

"Since this incident was recent, it will appear in our 2022 book, and we won’t really begin work on that edition for a month or so. We’ll be in touch when we get going on it. "

Was this information incorrect? Should I try to submit another report? I haven't heard anything since September.

Thanks!

Craig

Thanks for submitting a report, Craig! That information is correct and we will be in touch once we begin to edit 2021 stories for the 2022 publication.
