Lovell Canyon Camljnv red rock

Hoping I can get some information. Last minute red rock climbing trip with family. Is this still a good place for disperse camping. 

Van not tent. All advice welco.ed. 

As of last November, it was still a decent spot. 

Should be fine.  No campfires anywhere.  Not 'please'.  Just a very hard no.

Looks like possible rain tomorrow, keep that in mind if it rains enough the couple days following may be inappropriate to climb on sandstone.  There's lots of Limestone (sport) climbing nearby.

Lovell Canyon is a great place for car camping. Looking in at the dirt roads from space you'll find numerous places that are excellent possibilities and most of them are passable for street cars.

Without going all the way to Mount Charleston?

Very near to Lovell Canyon is Mount Potosi, where you can find routes of all grades. Stop in Desert Rock Sports to pick up a copy of Mojave Limestone, the best guide book for Southern Nevada limestone climbing. Cheers!

Thanks. How is the approach and base. I have a 2 year and 5 year old with me.

There are thousands of limestone routes and walls all over not just Mt Charleston.  The Mojave Limestone book is what you need

There's some climbing near the parking area where Petosi Road and Rt 160 meet, otherwise fairly strenuous approaches to any of the cliffs higher up the mountain.  The climbing guide has other areas with slightly less strenuous approaches scattered around Vegas and the general Vegas area.

Canton road to red rocks. How far driving time?

Lovell was nice. Van friendly. Fairly close to rr 

I checked it out. I have to admit, the Red Rock Casino parking lot is much closer for us. 

Lovell is worth it for sure. It's definitely pretty and quiet.
