Scarpa Mont Blanc and Phantom Tech Sizing

Anyone have experience with both the Mont Blanc and Phantom Tech?

I currently have a pair of MBs in 43.5 and my toes hit the front when I kick. I tried my friends Phantom Tech in a 44 with a variety of socks (thin ski socks and thick socks) and found that my toes did not hit the front, but it felt very roomy (maybe too roomy?). Are the Phantom Tech's sized larger than the Mont Blanc even within the same size? I'm trying to figure out if I should go for a 43.5 or 44 PT and unfortunately I don't live near a place that carries the PT.

Chris,

I have both and love both. My MBPs are 44, PTs are 44.5. I wear 10.5 US in all my shoes. I typically wear Smartwool Mountaineering socks, which are not thick, but can fit thicker socks if needed. I’ve done a lot of alpine ice front pointing, and some water ice, in the MBPs without issues, but my toes were close enough that I wanted a little more room for hard ice.

It’s costly - but temporary- but consider buying both sizes at the same time and try them in at home. Then send one pair back. I hope this helped. I LOVE my Scarpas!!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
