Like the Flatirons, but Without the BS
|

Anybody know of a climbing area that is similar to the Flatirons, but that doesn't include the hassles of Boulder, i.e. no decent camping and outrageously priced accommodations? Oh, and lines like those in the Wal-Mart checkout lane? |

Iberian Peninsula. The Pyrenees mountains are situated along the northeast edge. Not far from Boulder. No. |

It’s a touch steeper, but I’ve heard Baffin Island has some rocks. |

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! I should have been more specific in my initial query. I was looking for suggestions that are in the U.S of A.. The "BS" in the title I was referring to, I assumed everyone would know what I was talking about, i.e. little to no camping nearby, expensive hotels/motels. And regarding the climbing in the Flatties: Lots and lots of easily accessible 3rd, 4th, and low 5th class climbing that can be free soloed. I would move to Boulder, but with a median home price of $900,000+ it isn't in the budget. |

It’s like 20 minutes from parts of Denver, Golden and heaps of convenient FS camping nearby. Sorry there’s a city in the way of your vacation scrambling? Lots of easy low angle patina climbing in Vegas. I recall loving the adventure scrambling and easy climbing in Joshua tree are pretty fun and good this time of year. |

Not very close to Boulder, but if you want lower angle friction slab with nearby camping, Stone Mt., NC |
