James Wwrote: Tuolumne Meadows are pretty busy with climbers in those months. There is more to Yosemite than just the valley. |

Cory Bwrote: That would suck having to make the drive often from El Portal to Tuolumne... |

A good baker's dozen worth of vans and cars camping out in the "no camping" zone this morning. Like the Speeding Kills Bears signs, I think most people are just gonna ignore this whole thing. It's the thought that counts, right? |

Alrighty guys, I have an idea. We have lookouts posted up that keep an eye out for the poor blokes that are up way too early giving out tickets. As soon as they see the authorities, they morph into beautiful, scarlet Phoenix birds, rise up in the air and let out an all engulfing "CAW!!!" that all of the climbers can hear except for the people spending a small loan of a million dollars on their vans. Neither can the poor ethics people. Then we all scram and dissipate into clouds of joy after seeing the right people get fined. Followed by disappointment since this is a fictional idea and every time I go on Mountain Project, there are new roadblocks to deal with. So it goes |

Jplotzwrote: I would disagree with that interpretation of the ruling. It does not apply to campers of any kind because they have other places to go. That is they have the means to pay for a motel or a commercial campground. There is fine line between someone living out of their car because they have no choice and someone choosing to live out of their car because they have the mean to do so. |

Allen Sandersonwrote: LE doesn't have the option to subjectively determine whether someone has the "means" to pay for other accomodations. That was the point they made to us as we explained to the deputies that the fully rebuilt sprinter Vans with expensive solar panels were not housing people unable to pay for alternate sleeping arrangements. That didn't matter to them. They were following the law based on that ruling as they and their superiors interpreted it. Overly conservative? Maybe. Again, that interpretation probably varies greatly State by State. |

I believe California residents should have recreational activates taken away for the next 4 years and have to work on infrastructure redevelopment projects. Together we can get rid of the neoliberal blight and focus on community building. |
