Chuck Parkswrote: There were people with Reardon when he was swept out to sea. He was carried out by a current, last seen shouting and waving a few hundred yards out. His friends lost visual contact, and by the time search parties reached the area there was no sign of him. Yup. And it never would have happened if he had been roped and on belay.

John Byrneswrote: Right, Brad died rappelling; my bad. But my point, that no one has addressed, is that MP removed Skaggs post. CREEPY does not violate guideline #1. Nor does expecting a soloist to die prematurely because it has happened often enough to see the pattern. Evidently that doesn't bother MP minions. John. If you want to talk about MP removing posts, May I direct you to the “discuss mountain project.com” thread. Would you like to offer another suggestion regarding a potential name for the Honnold’s first child?

Gote Honnold would make a fine appellation.

And the original post was almost gleeful in its "premonition" that he'd be dead soon in a climbing accident. I could make the case that is a jerk move.

Honnold's child was born today. Much to the disappointment of MP, she was not named Handhold, Niad, or SendyMcSenderson. Her name Is June J Honnold. So, we can still speculate the middle name. I'm going with Jumar.

“June J Honnold, was born at 10:30pm on Thursday, February 17th Things started well but after a long labor she was getting distressed so I went into an unplanned c section. June was not breathing when she came out and she barely had a heartbeat. She went straight to intensive care before we could see or hold her and we weren’t sure if she would make it. The doctors got her stabilized but they were worried about side effects from lack of oxygen. Since then, June has been making a tremendous recovery. She was quickly weaned off her ventilator and the doctors think she’s going to be just fine We got to hold her and start breastfeeding for the first time on Monday. We came home from the hospital on Tuesday night and we’re hoping to bring her home very soon. It’s been an intense week, but we’re incredibly grateful for every moment with her plus all the amazing staff who took care of her. And also thank you to our family and friends for all the support this week We’re still in a bit of a fog and not answering a lot of messages and calls but we appreciate all the love coming in. "

As someone who has a first and middle name that starts with a "J", I feel for the kid. Congrats to the parents.

Are you still trying to guess the first name of a child that has already been born with a name publicly announced? This reminds me of all the people I saw posting today claiming that Russia would never actually invade...
