Twin Lakes / Monitor Rock Camping

Looking to get out to the Twin Lakes side of Independence Pass this weekend - seeing theres a few different first come first serve campsites near twin lakes - wondering if anybody has a feel for crowds lately and if we'll have any luck getting a site after 7pm on a Friday - thanks!

We drove up 24 near Independence Pass two weeks and had no problem finding spots. Not sure how busy it is closer to the pass, but there seemed to be plenty recently (though not sure how long that will last when the leaves start changing)

7pm on a Friday up there is tough to find camping. The Aspen side is even worse. Have a backup plan.

We'll be in a Van so at least we're flexible - thinking we'd start around Twin Lakes and if we have to we'll make our way to some of the dispersed spots near the clear creek res.  Never been down this way but planning to climb at monitor rock and out in Buena Vista, if you've got any suggestions I'm all ears - thanks!

There’s camping near bobs rock in BV. 

I believe there’s some camping on the south side of Twin Lake, if I remember correctly it’s dispersed sites?

Thanks guys - I'll start up 24 and go from there - appreciate all the info, I'll let folks know how it looks, hoping that post labor day weekend things may have calmed down a bit
