I did a search and did not see this news posted yet?

Thanks for this news, phylp. Crazy that Barry is so seriously injured from a simple (non climbing) fall after all the things he has done!

edit - I too hope Barry manages a full recovery!

As I recall, Patrick Edlinger died falling down the stairs in his house.   Apparently stairs are a greater objective hazard than we realize.  Hoping for a good recovery for Barry.

Yes, the irony of it is extreme, given what he has done in the climbing world. I hope he makes a complete recovery.

Also not sure if there is another thread for this, I found this one from search.  Anyway;

Ive been thinking about this, wishing Barry the best recovery.  There are updates on his condition from the family in the gofundme page.

This article below has embedded a great series of web-lectures (and i reposted one of them below) to hear the legend tell some awesome stories. His passion and psyche is infectious just to hear in these videos. The fact that his injuries may be memory-inflicting (sounds like they certainly are at this point, but hopefully he recovers as much as possible there) makes it extra hard to take. Also that he was in the midst of writing a second book, follow up to The Calling.

I can recommend The Calling. A good read about this impressive dude.

I second this, I read like a fucking nerd and this is one of the better climbing/mountaineering  books I've read recently. Hope he makes a full recovery.
