Day trips from the bay

Hi, I’m looking for partners to climb pretty much anywhere that is driving distance for day trips from the bay. I’ve been going to the Leap a lot but with the recent fire, I believe El Dorado National Forest is closed until Sep 30. Thinking to go climb at Pinnacles Sat or Sun since it will be cooler this weekend. Game for Yosemite or other areas around if you have ideas. I trad lead Sierra 5.7 but motivated and getting better, have almost an entire double rack, 60m rope, and am willing and fit enough to do long approaches as well as be a pack mule. Could potentially do some multi day overnight trips, shoot me a line and let’s climb!

I’m down. Have been totally obsessed with Phantom Spires lately. Looking at gingerbread 5.7. I’ve got loads of gear- old Yosemite big wall rack and time off to climb.

Yeah, I just saw that. Mentioned the area and that route as an example of the kind of route I’m looking for. Back in the game after a looong hiatus. Did a bunch of big walls back in the day. Currently working my way back up in ratings. Knocking out 5.6’s, then 5.7’s- currently looking at gingerbread at Phantom Spires, Bear’s Reach at Lover’s Leap, … I know those areas are closed now due to fires, so I’ll have to check out other areas. Maybe Owen’s River Gorge? Got on a sweet 5.8 crack and it actually felt really easy. But then again it was really in the sweet spot for me in terms of technique- hands and fists, great foot jambs.

I'd be down to do some day trips on weekend. I have not been to Pinnacles yet.

Hi Kasper, sure I’d like to do some day trips. From here (north bay) it’s a bit of a hike to Pinnacles for just one day. Are you only available on weekends? Next weekend, for me, is booked. Perhaps after.

Also, noticed most of your ticks were not around here. Are you new to the area?

I'm more into sport climbing these days if that interests you, I'm in Sac but willing to go anywhere for a good climb. I started climbing again in April and getting in shape for good things, I've been looking for reliable partners/ to true climbers and I can't find people looking to commit.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
