Collaborative Spotify Playlist
|
|
Not much to do with climbing here. Just a big fan of quality tunes to improve the day-to-day. I made a collaborative playlist for anyone and everyone to contribute to. I’d like to keep it along the lines of classic rock, really anything pre 90s no later than the 2000s since music picked up a downward trajectory in quality after that. This will hopefully be a great way for everyone to share and hear about new music. |

Some stuff I like but too much metal for me. |

Irreverent Bastardwrote: plenty of good stuff came out in the 2000's and beyond (there is amazing music released this year!) it's just work to find it now, the good stuff rarely makes it into algorithms or "radio" play. Edit: the playlist is fire so far |

Irreverent Bastardwrote: Yawn...... what's it like listening to the same music you've been listening to for the last 30 years? Anyone one that makes a statement like that is living underneath a rock. Plenty of good music is coming out in all genres after 2000. Just because some crusty old milquetoast white guy chooses to remain willfully ignorant to it doesn't mean there's not tons of great music being produced. Why even waste the time making a playlist of classic rock? Turn on the classic rock radio station. If you don't like commercials i might have some JOCK JAMS cds i can send you! Come out the cave old bones the sun's shining out here and the kids are making beautiful tunes! They are all over your lawn bolting plastic holds on your cracks and overthrowing your social norms from 1950! Things change stop being so afraid to embrace new things. It won't make you a sellout or a poser. The bank did that to you when you took out that mortgage! "Dont stand in the doorway don't block up the hall. For he that gets hurt will be he who had stalled. The battle outside ragin, will soon shake your window and rattle your walls. For the times they are changing." |

But you just quoted a Bob Dylan song from 1964. Why not quote one of your new fangled songs? |

PNW Chosswrote: Seeing as I am 23 and don’t own a home or have a mortgage, I don’t understand where you’re coming from. My music preference changed its direction when I left high school. While I do appreciate certain artists today, I have found more solace and appreciation for music before my time. I have some newer music I’d be happy to contribute to a playlist that was created by yourself, if you wanted. No hate just not my thing, I’m just looking for others who enjoy the same music. Nice Bob Dylan quote, 1964 was it? |

My music of climbers thread was too much work, eh I added 17 songs, decided that was too many, removed a few. Did not follow your dumb rule but maybe you won't be able to tell ;) |
|
|
they're all 'rock' and all 'classic' more or less |
|
|
No rules here… just an opportunity to share music with others. I did make a preference but I was prepared to edit the playlist. I already removed some Taylor Swift :). Thanks for the contributions, keep em coming! |

Maybe we should create a MP play list with no Admins thus no Rules ;-) |

He didn't edit out any of my djent. Sounds like I'm in the right direction. |

The world definitely needs another classic rock playlist... |

T Legowrote: Resist the mainstream. Let's change the world for the better, starting with this playlist. |

Daniel knows Opeth? Your stock is rising in my ledger, young master of chodes! re: chronological snobbery, there is a metric shit ton of good music that was written in the 2000's. It's just a bit harder to find amidst the sea of Fallout Boi et al. |

F r i t zwrote: And you know the third-best Megadeth song, so likewise. Didn't we have a discussion about Opeth last month, when I used their transition to clean singing as a metaphor no one was supposed to get?
