I just had a piece published in the digital magazine Common Climber. I'm pretty stoked about this bit of writing and wanted to share. I hope folks will find it a worthwhile read about climbing, and some things related to it.

Thanks, y'all. Glad you found it compelling.

Rise Against is great. Anti-Flag and Strike Anywhere also feature heavily in there.

compelling is not the word. i really loved it. something that leaves one feeling gut punched, smiling, appreciative and disturbed simultaneously in such a short span is an achievement.

Thanks for saying so.

It's stunning. A lovely piece of writing, I just read it a second time, and love everything about it, how you put it together, the pictures you paint. Raw, lyrical....strong. Vulnerable.

How can a child do such a thing to a child?

How does a child become an adult who puts a knife to the throat of another? Are they disappointed it isn't a child they have tonight?

Good questions.

Keep asking, and so will I.

Thanks, sir.

Best, Helen

This read like something you’d find in that (sadly) fictional zine Pat sings about. Thanks for sharing.

Your heart is a muscle the size of a fist.  So keep on loving and keep on fighting!

Thanks for sharing....

If you don't live what you believe.  If you are unwilling to struggle and suffer to protect the things you believe and the people you love. What's the point of living?

Stay punk as fuck!

I appreciate the support, y'all. Really. Thanks.

The only other thing I'll say is that if you found this piece impactful, I hope you'll do something with that. Let it spur some action for positive change, no matter how small.

Don’t cling to an ideology. You can do it

Are you saying that the author, Derek, is clinging to an ideology? Or that people in general should not do so?

Anyway, confused by your comment, please explain

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
