Where have I heard that before?

If I must simplify....The MP crowd regularly makes up their mind before hand and reads all posts to fit their world view.

This is true. It's also true that your positions are not logically consistent. That's not a problem; you're here to troll. Claiming they are consistent when you know they're not isn't a problem; you're here to troll. You yourself believing your positions are consistent is a problem; that'd mean you trolled yourself, hard.

We'll never know what you really think about what you say, but I think we all worry about you from time to time. Troll enough and troll stops being just the mask. Saying what we believe is a goal; but all to often we believe whatever we say instead.

Which positions are inconsistent? I would be happy to simplify them for you.

Most of them. But in this case I was referring to what everyone else was in this part of the thread, our opinions about Shawn and his actions.

Which you obviously knew, because that is the context of these comments. Which means you're just trolling. Which sounds to me like you're saying, "I'm all good here, just trolling happily away." So I can be 90% convinced you're not listening to yourself. Glad to hear it; will happily go back to ignoring your posts.

The thing is Tradi - you’re a self proclaimed troll. You can’t be surprised when people don’t take you seriously. You can’t be upset when people doubt your validity and truthfulness when you continue to troll.

I know you’ll say that you gave all that up. Regardless, you still have a reputation as being a troll  I know you’ll ask for examples of your trolling but none are needed  Your reputation is one of a disingenuous troll and it proceeds you.

If you really wanted to be taken seriously and respected then maybe use a different account to distance yourself from your previous behavior.  Maybe don’t have an anonymous profile?  Maybe stop trolling.

Ha! I have already reconciled my thoughts on Shawn in this thread:

There's fine people on both sides, albeit not very many of them would be suitable parents.

I DO enjoy your little challenges however, keep 'em coming!

Sage advice from Anonymous!

I have 3 kids. We started them climbing when they wanted to. Sure, we really made them prove their abilities on TR before letting them lead. We did some pseudo leads, too.

Oldest tried it as a short one at age 4.5. Middle wanted to keep up with her sister, starting at 2.5. She scared herself into not climbing for ~2 y. Now she's the most advanced. The youngest tried it and never thought too much of climbing.

Now they are all adults. Our eldest will climb up to 5.9 on lead, 5.10 on TR. Our middle climbs up to 5.12+, crazy. I never got there. Our middle does basically no climbing at all.

They all were exposed to risk and understanding how to assess. They get exposed to all sorts of things, more than you think at school. Teaching them how to assess and make good decisions is probably more important than anything.

In the end, you keep them from something and they'll probably try it behind your back some day, without the benefit of your experience.

I suggest sharing all the experience you've gained, and let them make good decisions.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
