LNT while we tell you the best wilderness spots to drive to...

BTW, how does one donate to LNT?

Ads are annoying but better than a subscription. It’s not free to run this site.

Not the first time the site has had ads.

There are no ads if you use an ad blocker.

No it wasn't. Same players, same subjects. So what, some ads in your face. Pay up or shut up. That's the way life goes.

The location and size of the ads is bullshit though.  They are freaking huge and you can't even see what page you're on. Also I can't even tell what the ad is for, but I still clicked it by accident so they probably think it's working.

While I understand there needs to be a way to keep the site running, these ads really do take up the whole screen on mobile. They are incredibly obnoxious and need to be resized. Although, I've only seen the single ad by onX and no other ads, so they can't be making money from it so it's weird they even went through google adsense.

Seriously, where are these ads appearing? I don’t see them on the site (in Firefox on iPhone) or in the MP app.

They were at the top of individual routes. They don’t appear to be there right now.

These ads are very disrupting to the page. No issues with ads, but the placement is kind of ridiculous

Agree completely. I can't really demand a free site to remove its ads, but the placement is a huge pain in the ass. They should put it between the route info and the comments.

Nothing is free.  Get over it.

Gumby, you're not wrong, you're just an asshole. And a bad climber. Sorry not sorry.

That's so funny, I think I've clicked on it three or four times by accident now. There's a slight delay in loading at least on my phone so if I go to click on the route stats or something I end up hitting the ad first.

Wow...  insulting someone who has to climb with jello knees, arms, body etc.  I don't even have fingers to crimp!

And yet climbers managed to keep it free for 20 years.  How did it remain free for so long in a world where Nothing is free?  (By use of reasonably placed/sized ads?)

They're a bit big.... and don't really cater to the user base at all.
