Yesterday while climbing Zowie, the morning clouds rolled in and we couldn't see across the valley. What we heard was about 10-15 seconds of what i would assume to be HUGE rocks falling from the sky pond area. I don't know if anyone else was in the area accept one group climbing the Petit. If you know where it was i would be skoked to find out, im pretty sure everyone was okay but a good reminder to keep your head on a swivel.

I think sky pond/petit is far enough away that you would not really hear it.

Stuff does come down naturally, time to time, but may also intentionally come down by people doing first ascents.  I remember knocking down a ton of stuff when we were doing new routes to the west of Zowie on the spires up towards Andrews glacier.

Im not talking a small rock fall. The entire valley heard it.

Gotcha. It came from the Andrews/Zowie basin,  or the Sky pond/Petit basin, or the Cathedral wall area?

Not gonna help a whole lot if a wall of rock above you decides it’s time to fall.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
