You have no right to be mad if you leave your food accessible to scrounging dogs, even if they show up after youre on the wall. Keep it sealed in your bag, or even better, hang it out of reach in a tree or on the wall. I dont own a dog, but id never be mad if I left one a treat and they did what any dog would do.

Also, no one likes your music. Buy earbuds if you have that need. The birds sing all the songs id ever want to hear while climbing.

If you take a quicklink off a crux bolt, you're a community servant. If you take a carabiner off a crux bolt, you can pat yourself on the back. If you take a quickdraw off a crux bolt, it's you're lucky day! If you take the draws from every bolt of a climb, you're a thief!!!

Basically, to sum everything up; just be considerate of other people in the area and those who visit in the future (leave no trace).

I won't tell people to not bring their dogs or play music, but keep it reasonable and clean up. Ask others if music is okay and don't blast it like you want the entire canyon, valley, or whatever to hear it. Your dog is likely less well behaved than you like to think, so just take it into consideration.

If I leave anything "accessible"  at the base (and not blocking the trail or something) nobody should be touching it. That applies to you, your child, and your dog.

If you or your companions can't handle that they should leashed or left at home.

I love when people leave out their lunch for me in an accessible area, especially hanging head hieght from a tree limb, or from a totem plugged in the wall!

@Curt86irock

Disco birds would be better than anything I've ever heard come out of a Bluetooth speaker at a crag.

not sure if anybody has mentioned this one, but...  i really hate it when i find a nice out-of-the-way spot to set my gear down, get organized, etc, and a group comes later and yard-sales their crap all over my stuff.

Force climbing is aid climbing. It's not fair when a couple of siths roll up and use the force to float up your proj and then downgrade it.

A corollary: if your shit-show is taking up the base of 3 different routes at a high traffic crag, and another party comes to climb one of the routes, be polite and move your crap out of the way.

Don't TR lead lines or be prepared to give it up when someone shows up to lead.

Haha!  good luck with that.

If there's a conga line of gumbies and they are all climbing the route, it's their right to be there.  If the rope is sitting unused then it would be courteous of them to let you pull the line and lead it, and you'd trail their rope up on lead and reset their top rope for them.

If they don't let you on the route, THEY are being douches, but oh well.  You should have got up earlier.
