Big Question for Admins

I have a big question. A super big question, a question as important as mountain project itself. Why is there not an off topic forum group?

I have had a few life questions that I need input from rock climbers because they get me. Most importantly I have had one question that I have been argueing for a decade without any firm conclusion. Does mayonnaise need to be refrigerated? I don’t think it does, I can tell you from my childhood of seedy restaurant jobs we never and I mean never refrigerated Mayo. I can also tell you that I have a bowel problem. So can mountain project either create a new sub form or can some people help me solve this question by may-o? We have his and hers Mayo and my wife always fridges both.

Not an admin, but they straight up tell you when you get your food handler's permit that Mayo is g2g out of the fridge... And, Discoloration is normal.

Now, I can see the advantage of having a warm and a cold mayo, for various applications.

It would be a great place for pressing topics such as this.

Since we are off topic and talking about mayonnaise. Let me interject with a historical tidbit about the injust attribution of mayo as french cuisine! They claim it for themselves but every Balearic Islander knows it is truly from the island of Menorca!!!! The proof lies in the name. Mayonnaise. The largest city in Menorca is Mahón. It's Mahón-aise! It's merely been Frenchified!!! Help me to correct this historical misatribution!!!!

Well, seeing as how the most famous French emperor of all time was actually from Corsica, just across the water from the Baleares...

There was and sort of is: there was an off-topic forum called "Community". It's been renamed to "Politics and Rock Climbing".

Well that's what they tell you! But the basic sauce (aioli) has been around for hundreds of years before, it's in 14c cookbooks.

Yeah I recall that they should just add another page to be off topic and encompass questions for rock climbers not about rock climbing.

Cold Mayo takes up too much fridge space.

Easy to make. Start with 50/50 ketchup and mayo. Adjust ratio to your preference.

That might get you some bastardised version of fry Sauce, but Milts fry Sauce has some added bazinga. I'm sure of it. Also, the burger joint in Hanksville had amazing fry Sauce. Oh man, this thread somehow made me miss Utah by talking about mayonnaise!

Before proclamations like this, maybe read up on the history?
