Lori, that visit sounds like it will be fun. There are no guarantees against heartbreak no matter how much you try to play it safe. And if you're warming up doing laps on a 7 outdoors, that's something. |

Have any of you lot tried eating just one meal a day? For the last three days I've climbed every day with an empty stomach (just one coffee with cream and sugar) and then had dinner and snacks late afternoon early evening. I find the body's ability to cope amazing. Yesterday I rode my motorbike to town (50Ks) bouldered for an hour and a half, rode back home, drank three beers, then had pate and cheese and crackers (about 10) followed by a few handfuls of Doritos, followed by a falafel wrap, followed by more beer and a bowl of ice cream with four Oreos stuck in it followed by some chocolate AND I LOST WEIGHT AND FAT. When I first started I'd feel a little lightheaded but then you don't feel hungry at all, you feel energetic and (as evidenced) you can pig out at night. I know some can't do this due to health issues but I think it's valid at times and is most probably how our ancestors ate (i.e. pigged out after the hunt). |

Carl Schneiderwrote: I'm good with the beer-pate-cheese-crackers combo. But beer, ice cream, oreos, and chocolate? |

Cosmiccragsman AKA Dwainwrote: Yeah but does your meal last from. 8AM to 9PM? |

Kristian Solemwrote: I know |

Carl Schneiderwrote: Nope. Just a regular meal of about 1500 calories. I've weighed about the same, 160 to 180 most of my life. |

Cosmiccragsman AKA Dwainwrote: Oh cool. I'm finding it a little interesting. I feel hungry but then move past that and feel energetic. Might be different when I'm back at work. Like many, sometimes I eat because I'm bored, like System on a Down says on their song Toxicity "eating seeds as a pastime activity".... |

I find that if I want to live on one meal a day I am better off having lunch. I also don't like going to bed full. |

I have to have something light in the morning before Dog takes me on our daily 2+ mile trek. Then it's a late lunch. Going to bed full is a fast way to put on weight. |

shot #1 moderna yesterday. What a reliefe. I almost had a nervous breakdown on the way there as I was running a few min late. Fourtunatly they still let me in. This is such a huge weight lifting off of my entire being... A weight that has been here for over a year. I now have 6 more weeks of dealing with selfish ignorant pricks at work and then actual freedom. |

Awesome news Nick!! I couldn’t believe how relieved I felt with mine - it was like a thousand pound weight lifted off me. Studies are showing a pretty decent level of protection even after the first dose, so that should also help ease your mind a bit over the next 6 weeks. |

Came across an article about Mike Kozusko (58) attempt to solo El Cap in 2012. He did not send. Who is oldest to solo El Cap? |
|
|
Erica, yes after two weeks I should have some protection. |

It makes me so happy to see more and more people getting vaccinated. I was lucky to get it done early, what seems ages ago in mid-February. It's such a liberating thing. |

wendy weisswrote: In my own experience the key turned out to be intermittent fasting. Meaning creating a long enough interval between meals that your body can enter a calorie deficit. My normal behavior is to eat only between noon and about 8 PM. I get up, have a "bulletproof coffee" made with MCT oil and some heavy cream and don't eat anything else until lunch. Stopping at 8 PM also keeps me from late night boredom or nervous eating. I've lost 15 lbs that way, so hard to complain. |

I agree that intermittent fasting iis great, and it is pretty easy once you get used to it. I eat between 9 and 5, low carb. Bulletproof coffee is great, and it does keep you in ketosis, but it takes you out of some of the other benefits of fasting, so I drink only black coffee before 9. I was pushing 170 last summer in the COVID bloat, down to 155 at 5'9" with tons of energy so I'm a believer. |
