Please post when the gate is open and if road conditions are still 2wd sedan capable :)

It was a dry year, so the gate will be open earlier than usual, but I'd be surprised if it is in the next month. You can always call the Truckee Ranger District and ask if the 06 road is open from the Truckee side, if anyone is answering the phones there these days...

I'd say the road is 2wd possible but not highly recommended? Maybe depends on whether we're talking brand-new Tesla or '92 Corolla.

Yeah I hear you and I figured it might be early yet - done it plenty of times slowly in my old VW - was just asking in the context of if there's any new washouts/holes  that have made it worse.

Gate is closed. We biked to about 6500 ft and walked the rest of the way with a bunch of postholing in the last couple of miles.
