Is there still room for a small camper at 34? I've got a Honda Element I can sleep in. |

Victor Kwrote: Yes, should I add you to the list? |

Please do! I can't wait! |

Is there any room left for a compact truck bed camper? I've been hoping to attend one of these events for quite some time. This far out I'll be able to arrange my work schedule. |

Wow, I just checked reserveamerica. There is nothing left for a 6/25 arrival. But, 6/26, site 64 is still available, all the way through the next (July 4th) weekend. City of Rocks RV park, or Smoky Mountain, maybe, if you want nailed down reservations. There are a very few walk in sites if you're lucky, and there's always BLM, if you're okay with it. And? We have had a very generous offer. A friend with Almo property has tentatively offered us the use of his small acreage, near Castle Rocks. Camping, and some vehicles, for "overflow" people in our group. The one caveat is he has an overseas trip planned then. It probably will still be a no go, closed borders, but we'll see. The September trip is the group site, remember, so that's a bit easier. June, is just try to be there overlapping each other, and get together as we can. Just some additional stoke, especially for anyone who hasn't been there. It will likely be toasty by then, which means chase shade, climb early, or climb late. Or climb when its hot, too. It's your comfort level, the rock is doable most any temp. There are a few narrow gullies that get shade a bit faster. Take a siesta or hit the pool in the afternoon, on the days it's open. There is a full moon on the 24th, so it will be bright at night! And, the days are very, very long. If you come up from the south, you will be amazed at how late sunset is, and how long twilight lingers. It's still wildflower season, it's green, and, well, simply beautiful. COR is very photogenic! It is also a dark sky reserve, so you will have stars to the horizon. It shouldn't be smoky, that time of year, either, unless CA is ablaze yet again. But even then, it rarely gets smoky here that time of year. Best, Helen |

All? Keep in touch with Idaho Bob. As we get closer, and it starts to settle, we can then see about handing people off to my friend for overflow camping. 150 days and getting closer, yay! |

Thanks Helen and Bob! I really appreciate you guys arranging my vacations for me :) |

Got my first covid vaccination last week. Second shot scheduled for mid Feb. Looks like I'll be there for sure! |

Finally my State Park pass arrived! This gets me into the Castle Rock part, so feel free to bum a ride when we meet up at City. The poor people at the DMV were running behind anyway, and of course 2020 was the year the "new and improved" computer system went in. As an Idaho resident, I just buy this two year sticker when my registration renews. It was 50° on Wednesday when the sticker went on. The snow started yesterday. Yup....must be February. Best, H. |

Just heard about this from Mike at the VV gym. I would luv to join in is there room for the June event? let me know what I need to do! |

Adam Gradwrote: Short answer, sure! We've been offered a backup plan for overflow, if needed. Longer answer, contact Idaho Bob. He's the one herding cats this year. The main crux is vehicles. Up to eight people per site, but only two vehicles, usually. And, they are futzing with what sort of vehicles are allowed where. Rangers will be having a real fun time of it, if the policy isn't sorted out quickly. But, there are a number of options. Only 126 days to go! I confess, I expect I'll be over there a lot sooner than that, though. ;-) Best, Helen |

Adam Gradwrote: Yes, there is room. Right now for the three campsites that I have reserved there are 11 "commitments", and 8 others "interested". Others have reserved their own sites. But we're a long way from June. I'm hoping that by the end of May we'll better who is coming June 28- July 3. It looks like we will have more vehicles and that could result in "extra vehicle" charges. The sites I've reserved have space for "extra vehicles". Last year the rangers were VERY flexible on this, perhaps due to the pandemic. Adam, will you be in a tent or van/camper? Just let me know, nothing else needed at this time, but please private message me so that I have your email address. Good to have another "local" attend. |

I'm in so keep me in the loop. I am in a tow-behind trailer. |

I would love to stop by for this if I can. Putting it on my calendar. |

Spider Savagewrote: I dunno.... Los Angeles, Idaho still seems too....too. ;-) Check in with Idaho Bob, he's doing the head count! I'm really looking forward to this. Thanks again to Bob for doing the part that brain cells are prerequisite for. Showing up, meeting people, wandering around campsites and bumming food, maybe some of that climbing stuff with all the hottie rope guns showing up....yeah, sounds about right for the OLH skillset these days. Best, H. |

H, I do it all the time. Idaho is where my roots are. COR is the best. |

Spider Savagewrote: Lol! Just gotta tease when I see the two locales. I'm pretty fond of COR! Meeting people, hell, just being around people at all, will be a big highlight of this trip! Plus the hot spring. Old body loves that 110°! Best, Helen |
