We make chalk bags from recycled clothing. This is a serious post. No jokes, please. Thanks. Made in Missoula, MT

Better than the original, but feels like an old friend

Still no one wants to buy me bags :( maybe I’ll give someone 50% off so they buy one. I just want to someone that’s not my friend or my wife’s boyfriend to give me feedback :/

These look great!  Personally, I prefer brighter colors or more fun designs (like the alpaca one on your homepage).  Also, and this is being nitpicky, but I like to see all sides of the bag and your pics don't show how the belt is attached to the bag.  Perhaps one idea to make each bag feel more personal is have a 'closet page' where people could pick the shirt/pants they want made into a chalk bag.  Or even offer to have people send in their clothing for you to use in making their bag.  Cheers!

Noted. Appreciate the feedback :)  the alpaca design is my favorite for sure. It’s the bag I currently have, too bad it’s all sold out :/

The bags look really nice, you’re just entering a pretty crowded market here.  Backcountry has TONS of chalk bags around $20, and the ones at your price point tend to be “multi pitch” bags with zippers for keys and phones and bars, or chalk buckets.

A quick Etsy search also shows the wide, wide range of hand made and novelty bags.  If I want a silly bag, I can get all sorts of dumb shit for $30-40. Stupid logos, phrases, Coachella/vanlife inspired garbage, bananas, stuffed animals, etc. Its just a junk show.

Your bags do look well made - but I think you have to work a little more to differentiate yourself from the market by price, design, functionality, or a combo of all 3.

I appreciate it, Colin. That’s been the issue for sure-finding a good price that’s fair to the buyer but also doesn’t take away from the effort we put into making our bags quality. It’s been difficult trying to make our bags unique without making them feel like junk novelty bags, hence the used clothing that can be durable and unique. I think we will just need to be more selective when it comes to picking patterns.

P.S. if you’re ever climbing near missoula, and need a partner, PM me... or if you have an old shirt you want made into a chalk bag.
