New Jack and Curfew

Does anyone know how the curfew affects camping, specifically on BLM land such as New Jack City? Thanks! Edit: got in touch with the Barstow Field Office. Camping at Sawtooth/NJC is still open as of 20 Nov 0900 and unaffected by the limited stay at home order. |

Haha I'll be sure to keep the noise to a minimum to stay under the Geztapo radar. I have a trip planned to NJC over the holiday weekend and was wondering how the stay at home order that was implemented yesterday by the governor would impact camping. I'm gonna call the BLM Field Office shortly and ask. I'll post whatever I find out here. |

For those interested, I just spoke with a ranger at the Bureau of Land Management Barstow Office. She confirmed that Sawtooth Canyon/New Jack City as well as all other areas managed by that office are still open for camping/recreation and unaffected by the limited stay at home order issued yesterday. |

Wait one minute!!! I thought the prahj crowd frowned upon going outside during this pandemic? The Gov has spoken! Stay home and away from the cliffs... |

I did hear that the NJC does have a campground host now enforcing. No unofficial campsites. So you may need to drive a few miles elsewhere, as I'm sure it is full for this week. |

Any updates as of 2021 on disbursed BLM camping around NJC? I know the campground itself is closed but I’m worried about the land around it. |

The surrounding area is packed every weekend with OHV and SXS's shredding the desert and camping in big groups with bigger RV's and Trailers. Climbers may be wringing their hands over if the curfew applies to them, but the other BLM land users are certainly not. |
