Steep Training Hikes In/Near Ouray

I’ll be in Ouray this winter and I’m hoping to get some uphill training in. Does anyone have any suggestions for trails where I can easily do lots of vertical gain? The steeper the better but looking for things I can hike a few times per week over the winter without avy concerns.

Silvershield or the Dallas/Corbett loop are steep and minimal avy danger, (not none, pay attention) there's probably a pretty good base packed by now but you may want snowshoes...sun in the morning on those, old horsethief on the other side gets some significant vert in the sun in the afternoons.

If you don’t get a lot of responses, AllTrails is a pretty good and free app.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
